En el Hospital
In the conversation below, Salvador is in the emergency room
because he was injured playing soccer. Read carefully to learn more about his
problem, as well as the treatment the doctor recommend. Listo? Entonces, vamos
a ver qué pasa con Salvador.
Salvador Va a la Sala de Emergencia
Salvador se hirió la pierna jugando al
fútbol. Es posible que su pierna esté
rota (broken). Por eso, los otros jugadores
llamaron una ambulancia para llevarlo al hospital.
Enfermera: ?Ud. tuvo un accidente? ?Qué le pasó?
Salvador: Me caí cuando estaba jugando al fútbol y ahora
la pierna me duele muchísimo. Creo que está rota.
Enfermera: Hmmm… Tiene sangre en la cabeza. Parece
que también se cortó la cabeza y está sangrando.
Salvador: Sí, di con la cabeza contra un
poste. Pero la pierna me duele mucho más que la cabeza.
Enfermera: Voy a conseguir un paquete de hielo para su
cabeza. El médico le va a examinar la pierna en unos minutos.
Salvador: Gracias.
Médico: Buenos días, señor. La
enfermera me dice que a lo mejor su pierna está rota y que también se hirió la
cabeza.
Salvador: Sí, así es.
Médico: Bueno, primero queremos asegurarnos
de que no ha sufrido una conmoción cerebral (concussion). ?Está
mareado (dizzy) o con náuseas o tiene problemas con la visión?
Salvador: No, no. Me duele la
cabeza, pero eso es todo.
Médico: Está bien. Entonces, necesitamos
hacer una radiografía (X-ray) de la pierna. Si
está rota, tendremos que enyesarla (put it in a cast).
Salvador: Parece que no voy a poder jugar al fútbol por
mucho tiempo.

last 3 weeks)
· Each student will sing “Las partes del cuerpo” song and record
yourself singing the song, you can use the video to help you but practice
several times before submitting the song.
Make sure point/gesture when naming each body part.

Dr.
Fernández office is going to have a Health Fair at Awtrey Elementary to inform
the students on ways to better their health or a health condition.
In order to
help Dr. Fernández, each student will create a flyer to distribute to the
students.

of the following topics:
